HOW IT ALL STARTED
Weekend Warrior began as a little idea in the spring of 2025. I saw a need in the community for great quality work at an affordable price. I began offering my services on the weekends as I was working a full-time job in the legal industry during the week. Thus, Weekend Warrior was born!
I have an array of experience through different phases of life, however, I had not taken the leap of faith to start my business until I learned of how someone in my community scammed my grandmother. In the spring of 2025, my grandmother went to Home Depot to get a recommendation for someone to help pull a few weeds out of her very small flowerbeds. The person that was recommended to her took advantage of her and charged hundreds of dollars to simply pull a few weeds, something that should have taken less than an hour. When I learned about this, I became infuriated that someone would do such a thing. That is when I decided to start doing work for the elderly and disabled people in my community on the weekends at a reasonable price.
At the beginning, the majority of my clients were older and/or disabled. This meant two things: these individuals deserve respect for how they have contributed to the community we love today and they are often on a fixed income without the ability to pay for overpriced basic services. The jobs they needed help with often were things they simply could no longer do themselves. I quickly learned that there was so much more to this service than simply completing the work. I have been blessed to meet an array of incredible souls with lifetimes of wisdom and stories many are eager to share. I value taking time to build rapport with our clients, especially those who live alone. Weekend Warrior takes a wholistic approach, in that we not only provide top quality results, we believe in connecting with our clients however we can to build a stronger community.
What started as a weekend project has transformed into a full time business. While Weekend Warrior is still very new, I am excited to continue to connect with new people each day and find purpose in helping my community however I can.
MEET THE WARRIOR
The Weekend Warrior is also known as Lexi Bishop. She was born and raised in Brandon, Florida. Her experience began as soon as she was old and big enough to start helping her Mom in the yard. Growing up, she was taught that if we could do something ourselves or learn to do something for free online, we would do it ourselves. Although she sometimes dreaded weekends of yardwork in the Florida heat, each one prepared her for today. During COVID, she spent nearly a year building out a 2500 square foot basement. What began as a concrete slab with 2x4's and backwards insulation transformed into a stunning living space containing two full bathrooms with heated flooring, three bedrooms, a kitchen, dining, and living spaces. Through that experience, she learned a variety of skills that help her with the jobs she does daily. From completely relandscaping yards, installing French drains, framing new construction, to pressure washing and repainting homes, she can do it all. Just give her a call!
